The little-noticed rule passed by House Republicans that damages ethics oversight

It was just last week that House Republicans tried to pass rules in the dead of night to weaken independent ethics oversight meant to police members of Congress. While the widespread public outcry on social media, television networks and burning through the Congressional telephone lines caused a temporary pullback of the rules, Republicans managed to weaken the office all the same.

Issue One Chief of Policy, Programs and Strategy Meredith McGehee explains how three lines in the approved House Rules package may prove disastrous for the Office of Congressional  Ethics when members of Congress aim to reform it later this year.
