In response to President Biden’s FY2024 budget released today, which includes $1.625 billion in election funding in FY2024 and $5 billion over the next decade, Issue One released the following statement from Deputy Chief of Strategy and Program Dokhi Fassihian:

“The president’s call for a significant investment in our nation’s elections is spot on. Elections are the infrastructure of our democracy. Instead of playing politics, Congress should come together and fund them. It’s time for Congress to give state and local officials the resources they need to continue running safe and smooth elections, and having the cybersecurity to defend against sabotage from foreign actors like China and Russia.”
