Nucdalie Cherident

DEI Intern

Nucdalie joined Issue One in September 2023 as a DEI Intern. She is a current graduate student at the University of Central Florida for Public Policy, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Certificate in Gender studies. Prior to joining Issue One, she finished a fellowship as a DEI Specialist for a child welfare organization where she set their DEI foundation by assessing and formulating policies and goals, conducting research, increasing engagement from BIPOC employees and creating a Statewide Blueprint on how to reduce inequities in the child welfare system. She has also been a researcher and research assistant at the UCF Institute for Social and Behavioral Science, working on projects like the intersectionalities of racist ideologies and drug laws, gentrification in the downtown Orlando area instead of revitalization, and other urban issues. With her passion for tackling the inequities in her community, she hopes to use her socio-political approach, using research and policy to create long-term solutions.
