Rep. Ron Sarasin (R-CT) joins the ReFormers Caucus
Issue One is pleased to welcome former Connecticut Republican Congressman Ron Sarasin to the ReFormers Caucus. The ReFormers Caucus is comprised of more than 150 former members of Congress and governors from both sides of the aisle who are dedicated to returning government to the people. It is the largest group of former lawmakers ever assembled on behalf of fixing our democracy.
Congressman Sarasin began his career in public service as a petty officer of the U.S. Navy. He later turned to civilian service in the Connecticut House of Representatives before serving Connecticut’s Fifth District in Congress for three terms, from 1973 to 1979. While in office, Congressman Sarasin served on the Agriculture Committee.
Currently, Rep. Sarasin serves as president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, a nonprofit working to educate the public on the heritage and history of the U.S. Capitol and Congress.
As a respected former congressman and educator, Congressman Sarasin is committed to working with his fellow ReFormers to reduce the influence of money in politics.
