In today’s polarized landscape, our mission remains steadfast: We must build bridges across divides to safeguard and strengthen democracy.

On Wednesday, November 20 at 1 p.m. ET, we hosted “What’s Next? A Post-Election Road Map for Democracy.” This special webinar featured a panel of experts, including authors from the lead symposium in Democracy Journal’s fall issue, “Bipartisanship Reinvigorated.” Our discussion focused on the future of tech reform and Issue One’s efforts to build a democracy-enhancing information environment.

We explored:

  • Comprehensive, bipartisan solutions to address the mental, civic, and public health impacts of social media in America.
  • How the incoming Republican trifecta in Washington could shape reform efforts.
  • Policy forecasts for the next four years of the Trump administration, including potential reforms to Section 230 and strategies for using technology to enhance democracy both at home and abroad.
Panelists Include:
  • Alix Fraser: Tech Reform Vice President, Issue One
  • Dick Gephardt: Former Congressman and Co-chair, Council for Responsible Social Media
  • Liana Keesing: Technology Reform Campaigns Manager, Issue One
  • Nick Penniman (moderator): Co-founder, Issue One
