The nation’s top election watchdog is mired in gridlock and lacks the budget, staff, and teeth to enforce our nation’s campaign finance laws. A Federal Election Commission (FEC) that is unable to quickly respond to enforcement challenges sends a signal to candidates and political groups that there is little incentive to adhere to the letter or the spirit of our nation’s anti-corruption laws.
