“We must come together as Americans and reject political violence in all its forms,” ReFormers say following Charlie Kirk assassination

In the wake of yesterday’s shooting death of political activist Charlie Kirk in Utah, Amb. Tim Roemer (D-IN) and Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA) — members of Issue One’s ReFormers Caucus — released the following statement:

“We are both devastated for our democracy and heartbroken for Charlie Kirk’s family after yesterday’s horrific assassination. Free speech is a fundamental pillar of our Constitution and can never be silenced by violence. The ability to speak and engage with young people on college campuses is vital for a free and open society that respects diverse voices. At a time when our politics feel increasingly fractured, we must come together as Americans and reject political violence in all its forms.”
