Former President Donald Trump is projected to win the 2024 presidential election and Vice President Kamala Harris has conceded the race. The co-chairs of Issue One’s bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity — Reps. Barbara Comstock (R-VA), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Amb. Tim Roemer (D-IN), and Zach Wamp (R-TN) — issued the following statement:
“The voters have decided. In America, it is the people who choose their leaders — a freedom many around the world do not have.
“Our system of checks and balances has done its job. Election officials carried out their duties to ensure a free and fair election, with no evidence of widespread fraud or cheating. Now, the will of the people must be respected.
“We commend Vice President Harris for accepting the outcome of this election and look forward to the lawful counting of electoral votes on January 6. We stand united in upholding our Constitution and the peaceful transition of power when the president and vice president are sworn in on January 20, 2025.”
