The Council for American Democracy

Issue One is proud to announce the launch of The Council for American Democracy, a nationwide assembly of motivated individuals and citizen leaders dedicated to protecting and strengthening American democracy.

The council is unique in its approach – a top-tier leadership network working hand-in-hand with the best-in-class practitioners at Issue One and elsewhere – to create the strategies to build power and deliver results. The council will be laser-focused on issues of democracy, not policy debates.

America needs you now:

Congress, the Executive Branch, and the courts have been, at best, delinquent in protecting American democracy from decades of assault on democratic norms. Polarization is being stoked by partisan profit and power seekers.

Meaningful repair of our democracy will happen only with significant pressure from the citizens. We need to build a large nationwide coalition of citizens to pressure both Congress and the Executive Branch and challenge the courts to pass sensible reforms.

This effort starts with leaders like you. You will help chart the path to protecting our democracy.
