Alyssa Guardado

Legislative Intern


Alyssa Guardado joins Issue One as a 2025 Summer Legislative Intern. She is an undergraduate student at Duke University, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Political Theory, a certificate in Ethics and Society, and a minor in Visual and Media Studies.

Alyssa’s experience includes serving as a Research Assistant for a professor at Duke Law School and as a Marketing and Communications Assistant with the Duke Office of Undergraduate Education. Prior to these roles, she gained practical experience with the Advocate Program, a justice agency in Miami, FL, working as a Clinical Unit Intern and a Domestic Violence and Drug Department Intern. These roles have strengthened her ability to analyze data, create clear and engaging educational materials, communicate complex information effectively, and apply critical thinking to real-world challenges. With a strong commitment to justice, she plans to attend law school after graduating from Duke, while also pursuing her passion for art, graphic design, and media.
