Diya Patel
Citizen Engagement Intern
Diya Patel is a driven entrepreneur, strategist, and civic leader whose work sits at the intersection of social impact, philanthropy, and advocacy. As the Founder and CEO of Envision Media, a social media and branding agency she launched at just sixteen, Diya has spent over four years helping social impact businesses, nonprofits, and startups build compelling digital presences and reach the audiences that matter most. Before this she authored “America Starts Local”, a government guide for high schoolers and teens looking to engage in the political system.
Currently studying at Georgetown University, Diya has built a portfolio of experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She has interned at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, one of Washington’s premier litigation firms, served as a Government Affairs Intern at Strategies360, and worked as a Market Analyst at CAM Private Wealth Services. Her early roots in public service, from streamlining financial processes at the Durham Town Hall Finance Department to interning with the Connecticut State Comptroller’s office, gave her a deep appreciation for the systems that shape communities.
At Georgetown, Diya channels that same energy into her campus community. She serves as a Coordinator for Georgetown Rangila, a Loan Officer with the Hilltop Microfinance Initiative, and a Campus Tour Guide with the Blue & Gray Tour Guide Society. She also organizes marketing efforts for the Venture in the Capital Summit through Georgetown Entrepreneurship and is an Education Team Member with the Georgetown University ACLU.
Diya’s career is defined by a combination of entrepreneurial hustle, policy fluency, and a commitment to social good — from attending UN conferences as a research analyst for Nonviolence International to building brands for changemakers through Envision Media.
When not working, Diya loves to spend time with her family, exploring new restaurants, and reading the latest fantasy books!
