Research Associate
Amelia Minkin is a research associate and supports the Election Protection and Tech Reform teams while also focusing on issues of congressional modernization and money in politics. At the core of her work, she values community-centered policy and has a passion for the intersection between data science and policy, bringing a unique set of technical skills to the democracy space.
During her tenure at Issue One, Amelia has contributed to over 20 analyses and reports that have been cited by major news organizations including NPR, the Washington Post, and the New York Times. She has also spearheaded Issue One’s “Meet the Faces of Democracy” series, interviewing election officials across the country to highlight the unique experiences of these public servants.
Amelia has held a variety of data and policy roles including at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Decision Desk HQ, and the UF Election Lab. Her previous work has been featured in Missouri State University’s eJournal of Public Affairs and Georgetown’s Public Policy Review.
Amelia holds an M.P.P. from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida. In her free time, Amelia loves attending concerts, collecting records, and discovering new music.
