Legislative Manager, Strategic Partnerships
Brittany Hamzy is the Legislative Manager- Strategic Partnerships at Issue One, where she helps keep a fast-moving, cross-sector coalition aligned, responsive, and ready to act when democratic norms are at risk. She focuses on turning big-picture strategy into coordinated action, allowing diverse institutions to move together in high-pressure moments.
Brittany brings deep experience working at the intersection of democracy, digital policy, and coalition-building. Prior to Issue One, her work ranged from coordinating global partnerships on internet governance and journalism sustainability to supporting election officials and civil society organizations navigating disinformation and digital threats. Across roles at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, the National Endowment for Democracy, and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, she has led cross-sector collaborations, developed research and convenings, and helped translate complex policy challenges into practical strategies.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from NYU and her master’s in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS, University of London. Outside of work, she loves to kayak, bake, and explore new cities.
