Tierra Albert
People & Culture Intern
Tierra Albert is a People & Culture Intern at Issue One, supporting the organization’s internal operations, HR systems, and team culture initiatives. A recent graduate of Claflin University — a private HBCU in Orangeburg, South Carolina — Tierra earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Psychology, graduating as a Presidential Scholar and Honors College alumna.
Tierra brings a strong background in civic advocacy and democracy work to her role. She previously interned with the NAACP in Washington, D.C., coordinating town halls and developing grassroots messaging around federal policy, and was selected as one the Roosevelt Network RIW fellows — an intensive fellowship focused on progressive policy and civic leadership. Her commitment to voter empowerment is reflected in her hands-on work registering and mobilizing voters across South Carolina.
At Issue One, Tierra is passionate about building a people-centered culture that reflects the organization’s mission from the inside out.
Outside of work, she loves exploring everything the DMV has to offer and is excited to make new connections in the area.
