Issue One is pleased to announce that attorney Linda Willard and business executive Peter Staple have joined its board of directors.
“Linda Willard and Peter Staple are passionate about political reform and will bring new experiences and ideas to our board of directors as we seek to unite Democrats, Republicans, and independents to fix our broken political system at this crucial moment in time,” said Issue One CEO Nick Penniman. “With their help, Issue One is well-positioned to continue making meaningful reforms and work towards returning the government to the American people.”
Linda Willard has been an active participant in civic and political life in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, Maryland, for years. She currently serves as an elected member of the Board of Managers of Chevy Chase Village, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Republican Party. In 2018, she was the Republican nominee to represent her community as a delegate in the Maryland General Assembly. After graduating from the Georgetown University Law School in 1994, Willard began her legal career in the U.S. Senate, working in the office of then-Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and serving as counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Since then, she’s worked as an attorney in the private sector.
Peter Staple has had an extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently serving as president and CEO of Corium Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in Menlo Park, California. Since stepping down from his executive position last year, Staple remains on the board of the company. He also serves on the board of directors for Assertio Therapeutics Inc., and he recently joined the board of trustees of the Campaign Legal Center. A 1981 graduate of Stanford Law School, Staple remains closely connected to the institution, and has served as a member of the Campaign Steering Committee and co-chair of the Reunion Organizing Committee.
