Working to uphold the rule of law, protect our institutions, and keep power where it belongs — in a government of, by, and for the people.
Our system of checks and balances depends on Congress exercising its full authority under Article I of the Constitution. Yet today, critical oversight mechanisms are being undermined or ignored altogether and the United States is facing an escalating constitutional crisis rooted not only in executive overreach, but in growing public disillusionment with democratic institutions.
When any one branch of government operates without meaningful accountability from its coequal branches, Americans are deprived of the individual liberties envisioned in the Constitution.
In response, Issue One launched a comprehensive constitutional defense initiative to defend against the consolidation of power, working with our bipartisan ReFormers Caucus, national security leaders, veterans, and community voices across the country to generate pressure, reshape the public narrative, and drive institutional accountability.
