Today, Issue One welcomes veteran advocate Ethan Rome as Chief of Communications, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives.
“As Issue One continues to grow, we’re pleased to bring on Ethan who has a sterling track record of innovative and successful strategic campaigns,” said Issue One CEO Nick Penniman. “His skills will be invaluable as we gear up for the clear challenge over the next several years to achieve bold and meaningful reform.”
Ethan will lead Issue One’s communications team and spearhead national-level branding campaigns to ensure Issue One’s strategic vision and experts are the go-to voices for political reform in Washington.
For more than 30 years, Rome has been a leader and strategic communicator for legislative, political and issue campaigns at the state and federal level. Rome was previously a campaign consultant and the executive director of Health Care for America Now (HCAN), the national grassroots coalition that ran a $60 million five-year campaign to overhaul America’s health care system. Prior to HCAN, Rome directed national communications for one of the largest labor organizations in America.
Earlier in his career, Rome served as policy and communications director to the Connecticut Speaker of the House, built one of the first comprehensive political operations for a state legislative caucus in the country, and co-directed a coalition to reform state tax policies.
