In response to false allegations made by former President Trump that U.S. elections are “unsafe,” and “not free and fair,” the co-chairs of Issue One’s bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity (NCEI) — Barbara Comstock (R-VA), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Tim Roemer (D-IN), and Zach Wamp (R-TN) — issued the following statement:

“Our elections are strong and the results verified because of the tens of thousands of election officials who abide by rigorous checks and balances to ensure every legal vote is counted fairly and accurately. Donald Trump’s refusal to accept this truth mirrors the playbook of our adversaries who only wish to divide and weaken our republic.”
