Communications and Digital Content Specialist
Sydney joined Issue One in 2018 as a Research Intern. Since then, she has served in numerous roles at the organization and is now the Communications and Digital Content Specialist. At Issue One she develops and curates web content; designs many of the organization’s digital and print materials; manages Issue One’s Substack, “The Reform Compass;” and also has experience handling email marketing, social media content creation and management, and producing podcasts.
During her time at Issue One, she has worked on an array of projects that include handling the design for many of the organization’s reports and analyses; assisting with production on its multimedia projects, such as the “Democracy Fix” podcast and the “Swamp Stories” podcast; and project managing on various assignments, including Issue One’s website redesign in 2022.
Prior to joining Issue One, Sydney received her M.Sc. in International Relations from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. She also attended Virginia Tech, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in History.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys hiking, playing basketball, learning piano, and gardening.
